BCEP Solid Waste District – Full Time Office Manager/Treasurer Wanted

BCEP Solid Waste District is seeking applicants for a full-time Office Manager/Treasurer to ensure the efficient management of all office functions including payables, receivables, payroll, record keeping, and employee benefit administration.  The successful candidate must have the ability to work independently with attention to detail; possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills; enjoy working with the public; and be self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Requirements include proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks software; State of New Hampshire Weighmasters License, or the ability to obtain one within six (6) months; State of New Hampshire Solid Waste Operators License or the ability to obtain one as soon as scheduling can be made; and a minimum of five (5) years office management experience. Post-secondary education in business administration or accounting, or equivalent combination of experience and education required.  Attendance at evening committee meetings (usually once a month) and working on Saturdays is required.  Ability to be bonded for the Treasurer’s duties is mandatory.

This is an exempt, forty (40) hours per week, salaried position with a standard benefit package.

Transfer/Recycling Center & Parks/Property Dept. Superintendent-Town of Henniker, NH

Town of Henniker, NH (population 4,800) seeks a Superintendent to effectively plan and direct all activities of the Transfer Station, Recycling Center and Parks and Properties. The Superintendent ensures compliance with all local policies and procedures, laws, regulations and permits relating to solid waste; performs technical work necessary for directing the operations of all departments and supervises activities of all work crews. Additional duties include representing the Town’s interests in the Concord Cooperative and Central N.H. Solid Waste District; collecting data pertaining to the operation of the facility; arranging for the delivery and pick up of recyclable materials to minimize expenses and enhance revenues; winter maintenance and cleanup of various facilities; training employees; and evaluating, recommending or initiating new and improved practices.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and experience in solid waste management; responding professionally to citizen complaints; preparing and presenting annual budgets; maintaining public records; assigning and scheduling labor and equipment to all projects; and maintaining positive, professional communications with all subordinates, contractors, staff, residents, committees and elected officials. Transfer Station Scale Attendant – Town of Hampton

The Town of Hampton Department of Public Works is seeking applications for a full-time Transfer Station Scale Attendant. This position requires computer skills and ability to maintain good public relations with the general public. A State of New Hampshire Weigh Master’s License will be required within 90 days of employment. A CDL-B driver’s license will be required within 8 months of employment to assist with other Public Works Department duties as needed. Duties include: enforcing rules relating to the proper utilization of the transfer station; weighing Transfer Station users consistent with applicable rules; collecting fees; and issuing receipts when necessary. The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment screening including a background check, driving record check, and drug and alcohol tests.
