Coordinator of Recycling Program

The Keene State College's Recycling Department is seeking an experienced individual with knowledge of recycling, ecological concepts and the principles that govern good conservation techniques associated with the campus recycling functions to fill the role of Coordinator of Recycling Program. This is a 12-month, 40/hr work week position reporting to the Campus Sustainability Officer. Salary starting minimum $12.99/hr, complemented by a generous benefit package.

Responsibilities: Assist Campus Manager for Sustainability/Sustainability Officer with all campus related recycling tasks, maintain recycling bins in all campus buildings, participate in field site reviews for determination of collection centers and procedures for solid waste collection, create and implement innovative programs, assist in creation and implementation of public information and education designed to promote recycling of solid waste, provide administrative support, assist Green Bikes program, assist Eco-Reps peer to peer education program and other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required: High school diploma or equivalent and three years experience in the initiation and/or implementation of a recycling program; knowledge of recycling techniques, ecological concepts and principles that govern good conservation techniques; demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; ability to analyze data and evaluate alternatives; prepare technical reports; ability to maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the general public; strong written and oral communication skills; valid driver's license. Ability to perform all physical activities associated with the campus recycling functions including the ability to lift up to 70 pounds. Post offer, pre-employment physical exam also required.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Engineering, Environmental or Waste Management or a related field; additional related experience; experience in a higher education setting; knowledge of federal, state and local laws pertaining to recycling and solid waste; supervisory experience.
